It has a name! I thought it was more of a mood swing but after reading an interesting article in a spiritually based magazine, it seems it’s more of my lifestyle choice. I’m an introvert! There I said it and can you believe it!
For those who know me ‘introvert’ may not be the descriptive word that first comes to mind. After all, I’ve been the president of organizations, mentor, advocate, public speaker, etc.
I gave up on organized religion about eight years ago. Let me clarify, I definitely believe in a higher power and I truly believe in praying to that power. I simply do not know what to label that power. I know what I was taught as a child to call that power and it is still deeply imbedded in my soul. It is hard to shake something that was so drilled into your brain. I lived in reverence and fear of that power.
The Bring Change 2 Mind Campaign is an umbrella over the many mental health organizations that have joined together to end mental health stigma. Ms. Close has joined this campaign as she is the sister of a person who lives with bi-polar disease. Knowing first hand how the stigma of such a disease can cripple and stiffle a life, Glenn and her sister have appeared on a new public service announcement that sheds light on the many mental health conditions that are often left to whispers or ignored completely. I say it’s about damn time that mental health be on the forefront of conversations in our households.
A glance across the room, dinner, drinks, late night phone calls and then you’re hooked. You become romantic partners.
