Why Do I Clean Out My Closet So Often?
August 25, 2010 – 11:35 am | No Comment

One of the previous articles submitted inspired me to step into my closet once again and clear out some of the items that I have in there that have not seen the light of day. What a waste! Even though I’ll donate all that I clear out to a neighborhood charity, I had to sit and ponder why. Why did I buy these items in the first place?

The Circle of Friends You Should Have

The Circle of Friends You Should Have

Edna Buchanan said it best when she said, “Friends are the family we choose for ourselves.” We all have an individual(s) that we call a friend. That friend may embody one or all of these characteristics OR you can surround yourself with several who do.  Either way, if you have one that has one of these characteristics, still consider yourself very lucky!

a.  A person who lifts you up. You know the kind who always says yes, encouraging you to do what you want to do.  She’s your cheerleader.

b.  A person who enjoys going with you on adventures trips. This person is always raring to give an outing a try. She would be the one that you call for a late night cocktail or coffee, with no questions asked.

c.  A truth teller is the one that you go to for frank and honest conversations. She shares her perspective out of love and respect and not envy or malice.

d.  The party girl is your friend who is mostly about spontaneous good times. You  may not share your heart and soul but you will try out the new club in the area.

e. The other friend is the one you would never think you would be close with. You know, she’s older, out of your usual social group or economic status, yet she adds a richness to your life you don’t get from others.

Lucky are we who have people in our lives, whether it be one or five,  who we can truly call a FRIEND.
